What is Body Mass Index ( BMI ) ? Why is it necessary
to maintain for healthy body ?
BMI stands for Body Mass Index. This index measure t.the weight and obesity, according to the weight, age and height .
BMI can be calculated with simple math by using inches and pounds
or meters and kg.

Exemple:
let us say, your weigh is 85kg and Height is 5 feet 6 inches. Now
according to above formula of BMI you need to convert your Height 5 f 6” into meters. That is, as under
5 x 12* = 60 inches. Total Height in inches is 66 ( * 1 feet= 12 inches )
Now, convert inches into centimeters, 66 x 2.54*cm =167.64
cm ( * 1 inches =2.54 cm)
convert 167.68 or 168 cm into meters, as 168/100* = 1.68 m ( 100 cm = 1 m)
Now, your Height is 1.68 m and weight is 85 kg. Now , according to above given BMI formula, your BMI will be 85/1.68 x 1.68 = 30.14.
